Accounts Receivable Specialist

Responsible for customer billing, payment collection & Accounts Receivable management.

• Perform data entry of customer orders and invoicing daily.
• Communicate pertinent customer information to internal and external customers.
• Determine customer credit risks by using applications and credit sources.  Set and change credit lines/limits and monitor credit holds.
• Process credit card payments and post deposits to customer accounts.
• Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared.
• Process and mail monthly customer statements.
• Interact directly with customers to resolve and collect past due accounts and minimize bad debt losses. 
• Determine and process bad debt write offs.  Maintain bad debt and recovery records.
• Complete month end reconciliations and clear outstanding items.
• Complete customer mailings as necessary.
• Cross train on accounts payable to provide coverage as needed.
• Adhere to and maintain compliance with established systems, policies and procedures.
• Comply with all safety and housekeeping expectations and 5s standards.
• Keep supervisor(s) informed of progress, issues and successes.
• Identify, recommend and implement opportunities for continuous performance and process improvements.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years related accounts receivable and/or collections experience preferred.
• Excellent computer skills required, including experience with Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel).  ERP experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• A high level of attention to detail, organization and follow-through skills.
• Demonstrated sound judgement, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies, procedures, invoices, quotes, customer orders. 
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Consistently at work as scheduled and on time and is punctual for meetings and appointments.
• Strong customer service (internal and external) focus.
